Brazil scored early in the first half and never looked back as a star-studded squad shutdown Sweden on Wednesday night at Rasunda Stadion in Stockholm, 3-0.
Forward Alexandre Pato netted two late goals for Brazil in the second half. One came in the 84th minute and the other off a penalty kick in the 86th minute.Leandro Damaiao got the routes started with a goal in the 32nd minute off a deep cross through the pitch from Neymar, a budding star who has been subject to intense transfer speculation to Europe's top clubs.
The victory was a morale boost for Brazil following the loss to Mexico in the gold-medal match of the Olympics.
Sweden was without star forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Winger Sebastian Larsson played all 90 minutes for the home side.The match was Sweden's first since June 19, when they defeated France in Euro 2012, 2-0.
